Maya's birthday is December 18th and my mother, Sadye, known to Eli as "Nana" was born on December 17th. I decided I would start a little ritual with Maya that will occur annually in anticipation of her birthday and in celebration of her great grandmother.

Aunt Izzy, Maya and I held our first annual Nana's Tea yesterday. Having previously discovered that Maya has a special love of coffee cake type pastries and knowing that Nana would have heartily approved, we held our event at Whole Foods. We acknowledged four generations of women from Nana Sadye to Bubbe Louise to Auntie Iz to Baby Maya.
