Maya, Maya, Maya
It's been a rough couple of weather weeks here in the Burg- Lots and lots and lots of snow. Many of Maya's activities were cancelled and we spent much more time playing at home. This was just fine with Maya. She finds everything entertaining from meals and snacks to getting dressed to changing diapers to playing with her toys.
Maya is always working on connections- trying to figure out all kinds of relationships to all kinds of things and people. For example, Maya sees that I am trying to get her favorite friend Chickie which no longer squeaks to make a sound. She will explain,"Chickie old."
Another example, I am zipping up her coat for her and while watching me say,"yellow coat broken". She is referring to my yellow coat that I haven't worn for months because I had trouble with the zipper. The she points to my black coat that I am wearing and say, "new coat not broken".
One more example, we are crossing the river and I say, "We are on the bridge crossing the river." She looks out the window at the water and then say,"feed ducks popcorn". This is what we did at the river's edge. Then she says, "Dana". Dana is the person who gave us the popcorn.
This girl is a thinker!
