Our First SleepOver

Maya spent overnight with me at the loft for the first time. It's a great place to practice new motor skills, there is so much space. In addition to walking,we were very busy watching Obama's inauguration celebration, the Steelers win their division championship, playing with lots of toys, and eating pizza and animal crackers brought by Aunt Iz.

Maya has not only started walking independently, she now communicates with us through sign language. Some words Maya can sign are "drink","eat",and "nap". There are maybe a dozen recognizable signs so far.

Her favorite game continues to be peek-a-boo which has gotten more elaborate with the adult signing "where is" and Maya doing the hiding and the finding whether it be a toy, a shoe, a hand or Maya, herself. With Maya, everything is great fun!

A Minor Correction

Love the little makeshift ride there with the hamper. We need some video of that to get the full effect!

As a minor correction, the Steelers won the conference championship last night. They did also win the division in the regular season and they won the divisional round game last week. But yesterday they were crowned AFC Champions!
