The Great Outdoors

Last week we spent much of our time outside taking advantage of the beautiful weather.
We visited the frog pond at the Homewood Cemetery, the Schenley Play Park and the turtle pond at Magee.
Wherever we go, Maya uses the opportunity to create imaginative play. Her favorites involve cooking and serving imaginary foods and creating a "school" for her stuffed animal friends.
We were out and someone asked Maya her name. She said," aaa Maya". The person answered, " Amaya, that's a pretty name." Maya answered," No, just regular Maya."

Growing Up

Somehow we have reached a new passage with Maya. She is very very inquisitive always full of questions. She has become very clear about her likes and dislikes and very quick to make a decision that I might not agree with. In the past, it was fairly easy to sidetrack and dissuade her but those days are over. The girl has a mind of her own and is determined to use it! Some times it works really well like her ability to entertain herself all morning with imaginative play. Other times not so well as when she wants to keep on her pjs for the day and not get dressed.
